Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data the irchamps.gg website, the iRC Discord bot and the iRC app collect, why, where it is stored and how you can control it. It is written with regard to Russian Federal Law No. 152-FZ “On Personal Data” and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who processes your data
The data controller (personal data operator) is Sergi Sobetov, an individual.
To contact the controller about anything related to your data, write to support@irchamps.gg.
2. What data we receive
Account
- From Discord when you sign in: your ID, username, avatar and email address. There is no password sign-in on the site. We do not use your email for mailings.
- From iRacing, if you link your account: customer ID, display name, and the OAuth access tokens the site uses to request data from iRacing on your behalf.
- Service data: sign-up date, last visit time, selected language, roles on the platform and in organizations.
Taking part in competitions
- Season and round registrations: name, car number, team, division, and a snapshot of your rating and license at sign-up (refreshed while the competition is running).
- Race results, points, stats and race history, standings positions and achievements — from iRacing official results and the iRacing Data API.
- Penalties, appeals and replay links attached to them.
- Organizations and competitions you create, their descriptions and logos.
- On-site notifications.
Driver profiles and results are also built from iRacing data for drivers without an account on the site if they took part in races, championships or league rosters connected to the platform.
Technical data
- IP address: used for rate limiting, recorded in the public API access log and when the iRC app checks its access.
- Application error log.
- Cookies and browser storage — see the Cookie Policy.
iRC app
- When linking and when checking access (hourly), the app sends the site a random installation ID, the computer name and the app version. The site stores them together with the IP address and the time of the last check.
- Incidents, settings, overlay designs and the app log stay on your computer only and are not sent to the site.
iRC Discord bot
- Your Discord user ID and reminder settings.
- Reminders sent to you by direct message: deleted about a day after the round starts.
- Settings of servers the bot has been added to: channels and followed championships.
3. Why, and on what legal basis
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in and running your account | Discord data, service data | Performance of our agreement with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); consent given at sign-up (152-FZ) |
| Running competitions: registrations, session password, results, standings, stewarding | iRacing data, registrations, results, penalties | Performance of the agreement; consent (152-FZ) |
| Driver profiles and stats | Results and stats from iRacing | Legitimate interest of the platform and participants in publishing sporting results (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); consent (152-FZ) |
| Notifications and reminders | Discord ID, settings | Performance of the agreement |
| iRC app: access and revoking installations | Installation ID, computer name, version, IP | Performance of the agreement |
| Security and abuse prevention | IP address, logs | Legitimate interest |
We do not sell data, show ads or use analytics services.
4. What others can see
Your driver name, avatar, results, standings positions, stats, achievements, registrations and published penalties are visible to other users of the platform. An organizer can enable a public link to a championship — its standings and results are then visible without signing in. The session password is shown only to registered drivers and the organizer.
Public championship, race and organization pages, as well as driver profiles of people with an account on the site, may be indexed by search engines. You can hide your profile from search in settings — it will still open by link. Profiles of drivers without an account on the site, private championships and secret-link pages are not indexed.
5. Who we share data with
- Discord (USA) — sign-in and the bot.
- iRacing (USA) — iRacing Data API requests made on the user’s behalf.
- Hosting provider — the server in Germany (Frankfurt am Main) where the database is stored.
- GitHub (USA) — downloading and updating the iRC app.
- Content delivery networks used to load pages: Google Fonts, cdnjs (Cloudflare), jsDelivr, Tailwind CDN, iRacing image servers. They receive your IP address, as with any request to a website.
We disclose data to public authorities only where the law expressly requires it.
6. International transfers
Data is stored on a server in Germany and transferred to the USA (Discord, iRacing, GitHub). For users in Russia this is a cross-border transfer under Art. 12 of 152-FZ; for users in the EU it is a transfer to third countries under Chapter V GDPR, relying on the safeguards these services use (Standard Contractual Clauses, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework). By using the platform you consent to such transfers.
7. How long we keep data
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account, registrations, results, notifications, API access log | For as long as the account exists |
| iRacing tokens | Until you unlink iRacing in settings or delete your account |
| iRC app installations | Until the installation is revoked or the account is deleted |
| Application error log | 7 days |
| Database backups | 14 days |
| Bot reminders sent by direct message | About a day after the round starts |
Race results and standings of finished competitions are part of a sporting record shared with other drivers. After an account is deleted we may keep them in de-identified form.
8. How we protect data
- Connections to the site are protected with HTTPS.
- Session passwords are stored encrypted; public API keys and iRC app keys are stored only as hashes.
- Access to the server and database is limited to platform administrators.
9. Your rights
You can:
- find out what data we process about you and get a copy of it;
- correct inaccurate data;
- delete your account and data;
- restrict or object to processing;
- receive your data in a machine-readable format (portability);
- withdraw your consent;
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: Roskomnadzor in Russia, or the data protection authority of your country in the EU.
Send requests to support@irchamps.gg from the email address or Discord account linked to the platform. We reply within 10 business days; this may be extended by another 5 business days with notice.
Some actions are available right away: unlink iRacing in the site settings, revoke an iRC app installation at /desktop, turn off reminders in the bot menu, and delete your account in settings under “Delete account”. If deletion isn’t available there yet — for example, while you are running an unfinished competition — the page shows what to do first.
10. Age
The platform is intended for people aged 16 and over. If you learn that data of a child under this age reached us without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. We will announce material changes on the site in advance. The date of the current version is shown at the bottom of the page.
This version takes effect on: September 10, 2025
